Dr Louise Hamilton

C. Psychol., Ps.S.I., B.A.(Hons), H.Dip. Psych., D. Couns. Psych.

Louise has a wide range of experience counselling adults, teenagers and children experiencing a variety of difficulties (e.g. anxiety, panic, depression, personal and relationship problems) across a range of settings, including private practice, community mental health, school and university settings, the HSE and voluntary organisations. At present, Louise runs a private practice in Dublin City Centre. In addition, she has in-depth experience counselling those bereaved by suicide.

Her clinical approach is an integrative one that draws upon a number of evidence based approaches including client centred therapy, emotion focussed therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). The treatment is then tailored to suit the specific and individual needs of each client. She is particularly interested in the different kinds of problems that people can have with their emotions and how to help the person use their emotions more effectively to solve problems.
