What To Expect

“I am here to support and work with you in the way that is best suited to you as an individual.”

Many people feel anxious about seeking help. I would like to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have a question that I have not covered, please feel free to get in touch via the contact form. I would be delighted to hear from you.

Initial Contact

The first step is to contact me and make an appointment via the “Contact” page or using the phone number above.

I will arrange to meet you in my Dublin 2 centre for an initial meeting. The aim of this first appointment is to allow you to share your difficulties and expectations of therapy in a safe place and in turn I will let you know how I might be able to help. I will also explain how therapy works (e.g. confidentiality, fees, cancellation policy etc.) I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is very important and the first session allows you to get to know the therapist a little and decide if this is the right place and time for you. There is no pressure to return and you are free to go away and consider all of the information.

Beginning Therapy

Therapy typically takes place weekly at the same time, with each session lasting between 50 minutes and one hour. These sessions provide you with the opportunity to explore your challenges, emotions, thinking, behaviour and relationships in a safe, non-judgmental and quiet place that is all your own. Your trained therapist is there to support and work with you in the way that is best suited to you as an individual, building on your strengths and addressing any past and present concerns, which you have identified as impacting on your day-to-day life.
